Programme: Policy Research

Policy and Research programme leads the development of policy positions, designs and implements advocacy initiatives to protect and promote the rights of women and girls, including from the LBT community; support is also provided to oversee advocacy efforts of our key partners that aim to improve the quality of life for all women in Jamaica.

Through this post, there is development and implementation of advocacy strategies around key gender and development issues to improve the human rights situation of vulnerable and marginalized women, including LBT women. This department also monitors and analyze developments of priority issues affecting disadvantaged and vulnerable women, to inform development of appropriate strategies, projects and action; Research and analyse human rights issues, and produce reports, briefing papers, articles and other materials on the policy environment in Jamaica and the wider Caribbean to influence decision-making, inform stakeholders and raise awareness among LGBT people and key populations.
